I’ve been thinking about what the Tea Party is, and what it should stand for. The Tea Party message has to be one that puts an emphasis on fundamentally changing our foreign and monetary policy because both are entirely responsible for the Republican party and our nation’s current woes.
What exactly happened to the Republican party? They lost their way, some might say, but they didn’t lose their way, they unknowingly painted theme selves in a corner.
The simple fact is that Republicans cannot stay true to their constitutional principles if they still want to carry out their interventionist foreign policy over-seas.
Likewise, we can’t expect government to remain small if we still allow it to print money out of thin air. If it can’t print money out of thin air, then we won’t have these unecessary wars or government programs and manipulations.
These two (foreign and monetary policy) issues have made it virtually impossible to be an actual conservative in the Republican party.
You can’t claim to be for civil liberties and at the same time support our over-seas military empire which created the very war on terror that threatens them.
These contradiction’s and incompatibilities have largely given rise to the Republican party’s inability to craft a message together that works. And until they adress this, they never will.
The Tea Party Must be different and finally address the foundational and core reason’s why our economy is in the dirt and why we are in this war on terror in the first place, otherwise they might as well just go back to the Republican party.

OMG, what’s happening? A year into Obama’s reign, Ron Paul’s loopy ideas now making sense

Loyal Ticket readers from the 2007-08 presidential primary months will remember our many items about the amazing long-shot political campaign of Republican Rep. Ron Paul, Dr. No or Dr. Know-Nothing, depending on your viewpoint. (In fact, over in the right margin here under Categories, you can find an entire Ron Paul story archive to reminisce through.)
The now 11-term Texas congressman raised more money in the final quarter of 2007 than any other GOP candidate, including all the far bigger names.
In a country over-taken by crisis after crisis, Ron Paul and his libertarian message of limited government, a non-interventionist foreign policy are looking better and better to increasingly angry Americans who know they’re being ignored.
They’ve been told by their progressive leaders that due to multiple crises, we must abandon all principles of free markets or civil liberties to respond. However, in doing so they have only illuminated the failed progressive policies which lead to these very crises and now Americans are increasingly becoming more libertarian.
From The LaTimes; Reporting from Washington – For three decades, Texas congressman and former presidential candidate Ron Paul’s extreme brand of libertarian economics consigned him to the far fringes even among conservatives. Not a few times, his views put him on the losing end of 434-1 votes on Capitol Hill. No longer.
We live in incredible times. Almost daily we see an ever increasing amount of government activism working to bury the people under it’s tyranny. Whether it’s the war on terror, health care, man-made global warming or the Fed bailing out banks our Republic is being destroyed daily.
It’s enough to make the most liberal among us go, “wait a second”. The encroachment upon our liberty is increasingly hostile. One side says we have to give up liberty for security, thereby losing both. The other side says we need to shift wealth to help enrich the collective; thereby making everyone poorer. Stealing is stealing, weather I authorize government to do it on my behalf or not.
